Everyone is part of a team working to achieve common goals. Our staff members work together to solve complex problems, share ideas about the best way to accomplish a particular task or pitch in to complete a big project.

We never stop learning or evolving, and we’re always interested in hearing new ideas and looking at new ways of doing things. We value what our employees have to say, and we encourage everyone to give feedback, offer suggestions and present fresh perspectives. If someone has a great idea, we want to hear it. That’s what it means to be on our team.
We work hard, but we also take time to have fun. To say thanks, we treat our entire team to monthly in-house luncheons. During holiday months, we host special Thanksgiving and Christmas luncheons as well as Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day cookouts.

What We Look For
We’re always looking for responsible and dedicated people to join our company. We expect our employees to show professionalism, have a positive attitude and take pride in their work. If this sounds like you, then you’ll enjoy being part of the Baker & Kerr family.
We offer paid apprenticeships to local high school students through our partnership with the Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Center of Applied Technology.
Our full-time summer apprenticeships are designed to equip students who have successfully completed the center’s carpentry program with real-world experience in the woodworking trade. Working side by side with our expert craftsmen, apprentices are trained in necessary shop skills, operation of shop equipment and safety protocols.
Summer apprenticeships may continue throughout the school year if a student’s schedule permits. Upon graduation from high school, apprentices may be offered full-time permanent employment with Baker & Kerr.
